He relates that he couldn't envision himself going bald. That's the truth. It made Dr. Dorin uncomfortable, a little bit self-conscious at times. "I guess, if I had been maybe 20 or 30 years older, maybe it wouldn't have bothered me as much at that point in time. But in the mid to early thirties starting to lose your hair, it's a vanity, a little bit of a vanity issue." But my hair loss detracted from a little bit of self-confidence. It detracted a little bit from how he perceived himself. And he projected that back into the world, which makes all the difference. So if he didn't perceive himself that way, he wouldn't have projected it and it wouldn't have mattered. But it did matter to Dr. Dorin, "I think hair loss matters to many men."
