A Glimpse at the Donor Area
Hair Donor New York, New Jersey, Boston
At True & Dorin, the management and aesthetics of the hair donor area for our New York, New Jersey, and Boston patients is a top priority, just as the natural outcome of the hair we transplant.
There are two methods we use to harvest the follicular units used in the hair transplantation process: FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) and FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction).
With either approach, the goal is to restore natural, optimal coverage to the balding areas on the top of the head while minimizing the impact on the donor area in terms of scarring and thinning. Each surgery does permanently remove a certain percentage of follicular units from the donor zone. Typically, we can move about 60 percent of the donor hair without causing noticeable thinning.
It is important when entering into the hair restoration process that you have a clear understanding of your hair loss progression. Dr. True and Dr. Dorin will provide you with a strategy for how to best manage your hair donor supply at either our New York, New Jersey, or Boston center.
