Laser Hair Growth: Revitalize Hair Follicles and Restore Growth with LLLT

As technology advances, methods of hair regrowth become more diverse and effective than ever before. Laser hair growth using low-level laser therapy (LLLT) has become a popular treatment method for both male and female patients suffering from androgenetic alopecia. True & Dorin Medical Group has been providing superior hair loss treatment for over 30 years to patients in New York, New Jersey, and Boston. Our doctors have dedicated their careers to consistently pursuing innovative treatment options so that their patients can achieve the best results possible. Dr. Robert H. True or Dr. Robert J. Dorin can diagnose your condition and fully explain your treatment options, including LLLT in our office or with a convenient Capillus® laser cap

What is Low-Level Laser Therapy?

LLLT is one of the many non-surgical treatments we offer. This advanced technology stimulates hair growth through the use of infrared light. The level of light used for this treatment is also described as "soft" laser therapy, as it does not use heat. This means that LLLT has the opposite effect compared to popular laser procedures, such as laser hair removal. Whereas these procedures damage the hair follicle, LLLT can actually repair and stimulate the structures.

How Does LLLT Work?

During treatment, infrared light is directed onto your scalp, producing energy within the hair follicles. This increases blood circulation which allows hair follicles to move from the resting phase to the growth phase. The end result is revitalized, healthy hair follicles leading to a reduction in future hair loss and increased growth. It is important to note that LLLT cannot affect dead follicles. As such, this treatment is not effective for every patient. Laser therapy devices are recommended for patients with androgenetic alopecia, commonly referred to as female or male pattern baldness

If this type of laser therapy is applied to the scalp as directed, patients can expect to see results within four to six months of treatment. However, results will vary from patient to patient. Our doctors can evaluate the severity of your hair loss to determine whether LLLT may be a viable treatment option for hair regrowth.

Your Treatment Options

We offer LLLT in our office administered safely by our experienced staff. During treatment, patients will simply sit under the laser therapy dome for 30 minutes. While the procedure is fairly straightforward, it requires patients to regularly find the time to come into our practice.

Capillus laser capFor patients who would like to be able to receive LLLT wherever and whenever they would like, we also offer cutting-edge treatment through Capillus laser therapy caps.
