According to statistics released from a recent member survey conducted by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) – the world’s leading medical authority on hair loss and hair restoration – lackluster worldwide economic growth in 2010 did not put the brakes on the number of people investing in hair restoration surgery to treat hair loss.
Below is an early result from a FUE treatment by Dr. True. Patient presented with a 3V pattern. A total of 1,628 hairs were transplanted.
This patient recently saw Dr. True 14 months after an FUT session of 1728 grafts to address frontal thinning.
There is a report in the May 2011 Journal of Sexual Medicine (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jsm.2011.8.issue-6/issuetoc) on a number of patients who experienced persistent loss of libido and sexual dysfunction long after they had discontinued use of finasteride, also known as Propecia.
Dr. Dorin treated this patient in 2007 with an FUT totaling 2015 grafts, consisting of 1041 singles, 1049 doubles, and 15 threes.
It’s been 12 months now since Dr. Dorin treated this patient with an frontal FUE session of 1441 grafts. The treatment is fairly well-developed with some slight changes expected in caliber and texture. The patient is considering a second session as there has been some progression since his last treatment but not in the immediate future.
It’s been 5 years since this patient started out on his hair restoration journey – he recently followed-up with Dr. True having received 7376 follicular units via FUT and 1071 follicular units via FUE.
At an upcoming conference of The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery in Anchorage, Alaska, Dr. Robert True will lead a workshop on the technique of follicular unit extraction.
This patient presented for a follow-up at the 12 month mark. Dr. Dorin’s restoration consisted of 2355 follicular units, of which 716 singles, 1338 doubles, and 301 threes – 4295 hairs.
